Drills for high school soccer?
I need some drills for a high school soccer team. I would say the kids need to work most on their first touch. Also I know that aggression is generally one of those things you can’t really coach but are there any helpful tips on that. Plus keeper stuff. Anything for a keeper would be great. Thank you.
well for starters make them do dribbling drills back and forth on the field…all the way to one side and then back…also set up cones and make them dribble in and out of them, the farther along the closer the cones are. have them work on heading the ball and stopping it w/their chests. for keeper make them do sit ups,it hepls build muscles so when the ball hits ya in the stomache it doesnt hurt bad..lol…and have him/her sit up on their knees and roll the ball to them from like 15 ft away…make them dive and stuff from their knees….hope this helps

Well I am a sophomore in high school and I play soccer. One drill to help one touch shooting is lightning. If you don’t know what it is I will explain it to you. You put all the balls by the side of the net. One person stays there and passes a ball out and a player on the 18 runs up and kicks it. There will also be a person in the net to play goalie. He doesn’t have to be a goalie because he will play too. The shot has to be one timed or else it doesn’t count. If he scores he goes to the back of the line and the person in goal is out, but if he misses he has to go in goal and it starts over again.
Keeper stuff is a little tougher but any shots and experience will help. Maybe just go back to the basics and shoot from the 18. I hope this helps you and your team.

This is a basic training session.
Warm Up: jog, Heel’s up at the back, Knees up, Sprints etc.
For First touch: Players line up at half way with a ball. Pass to the coach who is at the edge of the penalty box Coach then taps the ball to one side while player runs in and shoots first touch.

For first touch, get them to play volleyball, soccer-style. For increased difficulty, impose minimum number of touches before they can send the ball to the opporsite site. Make sure every kid gets to handle the ball.
For aggression and first touch, get them to practice plenty of "Pig in the Middle". Dispatch two players (pigs) in a circle formed by the rest of the team. Pass the ball around with just ONE touch. Impose timing on the two ‘pigs’, give them a limit of 3 minutes or less to retrieve the ball, otherwise, apply appropriate punishment. This will encourage them to be more aggresive and work on their first touch at the same time. Also remember to punish those who don’t take the exercise seriously.

this is such a false statement… its something you work at day in, and day out, you dont wake up doin rainbows, or scissor kicks. you work for perfection, but what would you know about that sebyta262? exactly, absolutely nothing.
Im a goalie coach and i find that there are a few drills that i like to have my players do to warm up. i like to start with a few hand eye coordination drills first by holding a ball out in front of the player that is on there knees and dropping the ball and at the same time saying left or right. this makes them make in an informed decision and reacting to it such as a goalie should while in a game. next i do diving drills to warm up the rest of their muscles followed by a few punts into the net to get the legs warmed up for the game. now this is just a short warm up before a game but there are a bunch of different variations of the warm up
For aggression run 50/50 drills. My favorite is half of the players line up on the right post, the other half line up in the left post (Facing the field). Have the coach play balls out into the center of the eighteen, the first goal at each post races out to win the ball and then goes 1v1 against the girl she just beat for the ball. I get some fierce battles to win the ball, it definitely helps. I love when opposing coaches marvel at my team’s physical play, the secret is out………50/50′s.
